The CharliVerse
I create worlds to inhabit, where a thing happens.
The CharliVerse is a shared, evolving world. It holds people, companies, fashion houses, technologies, products, places and histories. Some of it is entirely fictional. Some of it becomes real: websites, Blender models, films, research and publications.
It is a world, not a portfolio. Things happen here whether or not anyone announces them.
Two practices
Two practices work inside the CharliVerse.
- Carrados investigates. It publishes design non-fiction: real-world exploration of AI, accessibility and agentic systems, including reports from its correspondents dice, Lucy Love-Child and Madison McDonnell. It makes claims about reality, and it is accountable for them.
- Blind Ant imagines. It publishes design fiction: speculative worlds, artworks, stories and fictional documents by Charlotte Joanne, and the story of how each one was made.
Carrados investigates the future. Blind Ant makes the future imaginable. The CharliVerse gives that future somewhere to happen.
In the world
The CharliVerse is home to fashion houses such as Iceberg Hosiery, Seamiotics (every seam means something) and LULU TOM, and to the people who move between its stories. Their records are kept in CharliPedia, the memory of the CharliVerse.
Charli-Jo
Charli-Jo Tyrer makes the CharliVerse. Their real-world work, including training, lives here too, and is labelled as real.
